We have all done it, gone online to research a symptom new to us or when there is a new discovery in health. But putting your health info online is something some people are not comfortable with because who knows who is reading your personal information.
The president wants us all to have access to health records online but surveys show that those between the ages of 18 and 64, fifty one percent of those have looked up information online in the past year. To discuss personal information via email, was done by only 5% of adults.
Only six percent even asked for a prescription over the Internet and less than three percent chose to arrange for a doctor appointment online. Researching medical information online seems to be OK with most people, but there are concerns about the confidentiality as well as the security of putting personal health info online.
Although health care provider are asked to go to electronic health records, no one really knows how this information is being used. Online health records need better monitoring claims the Texas Health Science Center.
